Barn Quilts by Order of Installation

Begin at "True Lovers Knot" and "Snail's Trail" (23620 Olinda Trail North in Scandia).

Head south on Olinda Trail and take a right (west) onto Oren Road North. See "Around the Corner" (14363 Oren Road North in Scandia) and "Bear Paw" (also at the same address). Head back to the east.

Follow Oren Road to the stop sign at Olinda Trail/County Road 3. Take a right (south).

Continue to 220th Street and take a left (east). Continue on 220th until the stop sign. Take a right (south) onto Highway 95. (Please use caution turning onto Highway 95. Vehicles are traveling fast on this road. It's better to wait until they pass rather than pulling out in front of them.)

Take Highway 95 to Quinnell and turn onto 205th Street in Scandia. Go to the end of 205th Street towards the St. Croix River. Two small "Rosebud" barn quilts are on the carriage house. Turn around and head back up to Highway 95.

Turn left (south) and head towards Copas. In Copas, stop at Garden Gate at Crabtree's at 19713 Quinnell Avenue to see "Hen and Chicks."

Continue on Highway 95 to downtown Marine on St. Croix. Turn left onto Oak Street and then take an immediate right onto Judd Street (the main street of Marine on St. Croix). Follow this along past the General Store, Town Hall/Library, Marine Mill, and to Burris Park where there is an historic log cabin. "Birds in the Air" is located to the right (north) of the cabin.

Go back towards the Town Hall and take a left onto Maple Street which leads back up to Highway 95. Cross Highway 95. The road now is Broadway Street/County Road 4. Follow the road up the hill to Christ Lutheran Church.  "Windblown Square" is located at the church (150 Fifth Street in Marine on St. Croix).

Continue to Stone House Museum - about a half a block from Christ Lutheran Church at 241 Fifth Street to see "Toad in a Puddle."

Get back onto Broadway Street/County Road 4 and follow it to the cemetery. There is a road to the right (Ostrum Trail North) that goes by William O'Brien State Park, through a tunnel, and to Olinda Trail/County Road 3. After Old Guslander Road, Ostrum Trail North changes to 170th Street North.

At Olinda Trail/County Road 3, take a right (north). Drive until the Lions Picnic Shelter and take a right. "Peace and Plenty" will be at the Erickson Log Home which is behind the Hay Lake School.

Drive back towards Olinda Trail to see the Hay Lake Monument and part of "King's Highway." Once on Olinda Trail, "King's Highway" can be fully viewed (2/3 of the quilt is on the north side of the barn and 1/3 of the quilt is on the west side of the barn).

Continue towards Scandia.  Take a right onto 197th Street and follow it to 14858 197th Street North to see "Spools."

Continue on 197th until it intersects with Oxboro Avenue. Take a right (south) and drive to 19540 Oxboro Avenue in Scandia. "At the End of the Day" will be on the right-hand side of the road. Continue to follow the road around until you return to Olinda Trail.

Take a right (north) and head towards Scandia. On the right side of the road (about 1/4 mile south of Gammelgarden) is a white barn with "Friendship Star" on it.

(Note: "Robbing Peter to Pay Paul" is temporarily not installed, so skip this paragraph and continue with the directions below.) Stop and get out of your car or take a look back at the blue barn in the pasture at 20543 Olinda Trail North in Marine on St. Croix. It has "Robbing Peter to Pay Paul" on the north side of the building.

Rounding the corner into Scandia, "Log Cabin" comes into full view at Gammelgarden Museum.

Continue north on Olinda Trail through the four-way stop. Go through the intersection to the parking lot on the right-hand side of the road at 21079 Olinda Trail North. On the Hilltop Water Company, "Follow the Leader" is displayed on the south-facing white door.
